WHU’s Campus for Supply Chain Management examines the strategies taken to combat today’s challenges
Blockchain. New federal policies. The need to reduce emissions. Whatever the challenge may be, those responsible for supply chain management have a lot on their plates. “Innovations in Digital Transformation, E-Commerce, Logistics, and Lean Excellence,” the title of this year’s Campus for Supply Chain Management, hosted by WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar, provided insights into the future of logistics.
Those in attendance had the unique opportunity to hear from a panel of subject-matter experts—from Paul Mahlke and Michael Jonas, principal and partner respectively at Boston Consulting Group to Lukas Maximilian Hofmann, supply chain management expert at Roland Berger, and Dr. Jonas Schwamberger, senior consultant analyst at online supermarket Picnic.
These experts made it a point to highlight the effects that current affairs have on the field, noting the geopolitical challenges spurred on by the unrest seen all over the world. Other topics discussed during the keynote speeches and speed dating rounds included the use of artificial intelligence in supply chain management and the corporate ecosystem.
Over the years, WHU’s Campus for Supply Chain Management, the largest student-run event of its kind in Europe, has become an important platform for those “in-the-know.” The event offers guests—whether they are already part of the WHU community or an outside visitor—a diverse program with speeches, discussion panels, workshops, and the chance to forge new connections and dialogue with prominent industry insiders.
