The Zukunftsinitiative Rheinland-Pfalz (ZIRP) e. V. awarded the prize for sustainable entrepreneurship for the seventh time on November 26, 2024. Companies of all sizes and from all sectors with a registered office or branch in Rhineland-Palatinate can apply to become a 'company of the future'.

The prize has been awarded since 2015. The WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Arnd Huchzermeier, has been the academic partner of the competition since 2021.

During the evening, Prof. Dr. Arnd Huchzermeier gave a lecture on the topic of “Corporate Digital Responsibility & Competitiveness” and illustrated the importance of Corporate Digital Responsibility (CDR) using selected practical examples.

For the selection process of the winners, a 5-member jury, of which Professor Huchzermeier is also a member, evaluated 12 different criteria in the areas of sustainability and value system; strategy and employee management and responsible digitalization.

This year, a wide variety of companies from the energy, software, industrial goods, food and beverage and many more sectors submitted entries.

This year's winner, Zahnen Technik GmbH, was announced by Minister President Alexander Schweitzer at the award ceremony in Mainz. Zahnen Technik GmbH works on the optimization and modernization of water and wastewater systems and aims to make water accessible to everyone using state-of-the-art technology.
