Nationwide Reading Aloud Day is Germany's largest reading aloud festival.
Nationwide Reading Aloud Day is Germany's largest reading aloud festival. Every year, hundreds of thousands of people join forces to promote reading aloud on the initiative of DIE ZEIT, Stiftung Lesen and Deutsche Bahn-Stiftung. Because reading aloud connects and creates closeness.
It also addresses a wide range of educational areas. Vocabulary is increased, the ability to concentrate is improved, imagination is enhanced and creativity is encouraged. The stories also teach the children to put themselves in other people's shoes (empathy) and to deal with their own feelings.
The WHU Toddlers are very happy to take part in this project and really enjoy the books.
Books and the associated reading aloud are an integral part of the WHU Toddlers' daily routine and we are delighted that our WHU library is always supporting the children with exciting new books.
