Professor Kammerlander Wins Third Schulze Award

The family business expert has been recognized by the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation for her thought leadership

For the better part of a decade now, the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation has shined a light on the “emerging thought leaders in the field of entrepreneurship” who publish high-quality and impactful works through the Entrepreneur & Innovation Exchange (EIX) and its subsidiary FamilyBusiness.org. Since its inception, the number of awards given by the foundation has grown exponentially. This year’s roster of winners includes Professor Nadine Kammerlander, Chairholder at the Institute of Family Business and Mittelstand at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, and Klaus Lüber of FAZIT Communication GmbH, who have been lauded for their collaboration. In their joint study “Let the Generation of Family Firm Leaders Chart Their Own Path,” the pair zero in on the diverging paths the next generation has before them—and the freedoms they deserve.

Fueled by her own passions, abilities, and intellectual curiosity, Professor Kammerlander is always pushing the discourse surrounding smaller and mid-sized enterprises forward. Her research continually receives highly positive notices. Indeed, this marks the third time that she has received a Schulze Publication Award, the others arriving in 2018 and 2021. In 2022, she was named one of the top economists under 40 by WirtschaftsWoche and one of the most important 15 family business professionals active in academic today by Family Capital.
