Personalmagazin praises Professor Fabiola H. Gerpott for her work in human resource management
PProfessor Fabiola H. Gerpott of the Chair of Leadership at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management has been named one of “2023’s Top 40 HR Professionals” by Personalmagazin. A total of 20 management masterminds, 10 scientists, and a further 10 advisors made the cut this year. “This award means a lot to me. For one thing, it’s great that this shines a light on the value of evidence-based human resource management. And I’m also thrilled on a personal level. The first work I ever published appeared in Personalmagazin ten years ago. It’s all come full circle!” said Professor Gerpott.
The magazine compiled their list of the best 40 professionals in human resource management through a two-step process. First, the editorial team drafted a list of nominees based on their own assessments, as well as the opinions of their readers and subject matter experts. The ideal candidate makes a solid contribution to both the discourse in their field and to society, their HR team, and/or their company. The editorial team then whittled down their initial list of 150 hopefuls to find the cream of the crop. “These 40 human resources professionals are building the new working world,” said Reiner Staub, Editor in Chief of Personalmagazin, of the finalists.
The wide range of topics that these professionals cover is as diverse as the honorees themselves—from a lack of skilled workers to transformative projects, hybrid workplace culture, and salary concerns. Standing alongside Professor Gerpott is also Birgit Bohle, Head of Human Resources and Labor Director at Deutsche Telekom AG, who earned her Diplom from WHU in 1998.
