WHU Supports School in Rwanda With WHUSH Charity Concert

Festive classical concert held in the Marienburg chapel

In the picturesque Marienburg chapel, housed in the main building of WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar, both music lovers and charitable supporters came together last Friday for the annual benefit concert held by WHU Studenten helfen e. V. (“WHU Students Help,” or WHUSH).

This year, WHU students performed with the school choir Il cantico d'assisi from St. Franziskus School in Koblenz, enchanting the audience with their impressive musical stylings. The amateur musicians played classics by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, and Chopin, as well as contemporary pieces and Christmas music. The chapel provided the perfect backdrop for the event, which was open to all interested visitors from the surrounding area.

What is so special about WHUSH’s concert once a year is not only the musical performance, but also the social purpose. This year, all donations collected at the charity concert will be given to a school in Rwanda. The financial support will help to give local children access to education and improve their living conditions. “Even with something small, you can achieve something really, really big,” said presenter Luisa Niedhart (BSc, 2025) while hosting the concert.

WHUSH is a student club founded at WHU in the fall of 2004 with the goal of promoting long-term social commitment within the student body and providing sustainable help where it is needed. WHUSH now has around 800 members and is dedicated to local and international projects.
