Our admission requirements

Qualifications

We require a secondary school diploma or equivalent higher education entrance qualification (e.g., IB, Abitur, A-Levels). As the specifications for each school diploma can change, we recommend you contact us for the specific requirements.

If the secondary school diploma has not been issued by the application deadline, it is possible to apply with the most recent mid-term report card and / or predicted grades from the final school year.

We will accept any one of the following English language tests:

We recommend that English tests are taken well in advance. This gives additional time should retakes be required.

For students graduating from English-taught schools, they may be exempt from an English test.

Either home or online versions of the language tests mentioned are accepted by WHU, but not directly recommended. WHU does not make any exceptions in the event of late results or results missing by the deadline due to technical problems.

Our criteria for practical experience are as follows:

  • It should be achieved through an internship or apprenticeship.
  • It should be a total of six weeks.
  • It should be in the field of business administration/management (e.g. marketing and sales, administration, finance and taxes, real estate, logistics, innovation and technology, or in areas such as communication, media, corporate social responsibility or sustainability).
  • Proof of the internship must be submitted by May 15 with an internship certificate. A provisional certificate is also acceptable if the internship has not yet been completed. Please see our example

Internships can be completed in a start-up, small to medium-sized company or corporation. This practical experience can also be a combination of multiple internships lasting at least two weeks each.

We cannot consider internships that were completed more than two years ago or within the student’s family business. The internship(s) must be completed before the start of the program.
