Career Events

We have a strong focus on networking in our work: a variety of small and big events in diverse formats offer you many valuable opportunities to network with company representatives and Alumni throughout the year.

Company Presentations

Throughout the terms, companies that support the WHU visit the campus for company presentations. These presentations are a great opportunity for students to get first hand insights into the companies and ask questions.  Traditionally, participants are invited to a networking dinner in WHU’s vaulted cellar after the presentation. Students are highly encouraged to use this platform to network with company representatives – many of them being WHU Alumni – and find out about internship or job-opportunities. Typically, all students of the Bachelor-, Master- and MBA Programs as well as Doctoral Students and Exchange Students are invited.

Career Day

Every year in the fall term students and companies meet on the WHU campus for the annual Career Day. Aim of this career event is to give companies and students a platform to get to know each other and identify potential partners for future cooperation for example in form of an internship, a master thesis project or a job after graduation. Whereas for company presentations and Master Your Career only WHU supporter companies are invited to join in, at the Career Day students have the opportunity to meet other companies which are not otherwise present on campus. After getting a first impression of the companies in short presentations, students have the opportunity to seek direct contact with HR representatives, managers and WHU Alumni on the fair and discuss possibilities for internships, master thesis projects and job entry. Also scheduled interviews are possible on request of the companies. Students of all programs are invited to the Career Day.

Master Your Career

In the spring term, Master Your Career offers students depending on their study program and semester various opportunities to get in touch with the participating companies: short presentations of companies, career fair, workshops, business dinner, on campus recruiting and career speed dating constitute platforms for networking. Master your Career - the name already suggests it – is designed with a focus on the Master and MBA programs. However, additionally students of the Bachelor programs, Doctoral students and Exchange Students are also invited for selected activities.

Founders Career Day

New event first organized in 2011: WHU Alumni presented their Start-Ups on the campus in Vallendar. After getting some information on the Start-Ups – some of them brand new or still in the founding process – in short company presentations, students have the opportunity to talk with the representatives, often the founders, on a small and informal career fair. Also career speed dating sessions offer students the chance to capture the pole position in the run for an internship or job entry. Especially for Bachelor students searching for their first (international) internship and future entrepreneurs this day offers valuable insights and contacts.

Company Workshops & On-Campus Recruiting

WHU supporter companies have the opportunity to offer recruiting workshops or invite students to intervies on campus. For students this is a great possibility to get an even deeper insight into the company and at the same time make a good impression themselves. The big advantage of these offers is that students do not have to organize travel or accommodation and miss a whole day's class because everything takes place on campus or nearby with transfer organized by the companies. For the interviews, companies can identify candidates by searching the "eProfiles" database and invite those students directly. Other On-Campus Recruiting events are like workshops published at WHU and students are invited to apply actively for participation. Information about these recruiting events can be found in the Career Service Newsletter and on myWHU.

Many opportunities

The unique feature of the WHU Career Service is the personal connection with both the students and companies. As a student, the Career Service helped me to understand my individual strengths and weaknesses which proved to be paramount to find my current employer. Being now on the other side, the WHU Career Service helps me connecting to the right candidates and thus, saves much of my time!
