For our Part-Time Master in Management (Degree: Master of Arts) we welcome applications from graduates with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university, and with a sound knowledge of business administration economics, and quantitative methods.
Our Admission Requirements
For the program you can apply with a first academic degree with at least 180 ECTS credits, preferably in a business related field.
We recommend that you have at least one year's practical experience when you start your studies. This can include working as a student trainee, internships, vocational training, project activities, etc.
As international experience we accept e.g. internships abroad, language courses, semester abroad, summer schools, or high school exchange year in non-German speaking country. This requirement must only be fulfilled by candidates from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the pandemic situation, international experience is not an entry requirement for the 2021 intake.
TOEFL English language proficiency test with an overall score of at least 100 internet based and a minimum score of 23 in speaking and writing (WHU Code: 0682),
OR IELTS with an overall score of at least 7.0 and a minimum score of 6.0 in speaking and writing
OR Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) of at least Grade C
OR Cambridge Certificate of Advance in English (CAE) of Grade A
- PLEASE NOTE: We also accept the TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition that you can take online.
- An English language proficiency test is not required if your first language is English or your Bachelor was completed entirely in English. In this case, proof from your university is required.
Applicants for the Part-Time Master in Management are required to prove strong analytical and quantitative skills. This can be demonstrated through your transcript of records or by a strong GMAT/GRE/TM-BASE score, which may be requested by the Admissions Team.
GMAT score of at least 600 (WHU Code: FBR-FH-93)
OR GRE of at least 155 Verbal and 155 Quantitative
OR TM-BASE of at least 102
PLEASE NOTE: The GMAT, GRE and the TM-BASE are also offered as online exams allowing you to take the test from home.
It is recommended to hand in GMAT/GRE/TM-BASE score even if not requested by the Admissions Team as this can further strengthen your application.
The TM-BASE test has to be completed in English. Please sign up for the test at the TM-BASE website.

To start your application you need to create an application account. Once logged in, you will receive further instructions on filling out the various fields. You do not have to complete the online application at once, but you will have the opportunity to take a break, save the information you have entered, and come back to it later. Your completed application must be submitted within two weeks of starting the application and should include:
- WHU online application
- Students must submit documentation in support of their application. These documents can include upper secondary school transcripts, university transcripts, and English test results. The documents should be scanned and uploaded.
After having evaluated your documents, qualified candidates receive an invite to a video-recorded interview on Kira Talent. Kira Talent is an online platform that allows us to record questions as well as the answers of the candidates.
Together with the invitation, we will send you a link for Kira Talent as well as further information on the interview via e-mail. You have one week to complete the interview. As the interview will be recorded, you can decide when you want to complete it within the given time frame of one week.
Please note that once you begin the interview, it is not possible to pause it. In total, the interview should take around 20 minutes.
As a last step in the application process, you will be invited to a personal online interview via Skype or Microsoft teams.
We will inform you if your application has been successful or not within two weeks of the personal interview. If your application has been successful, the final phase is to officially accept our offer and sign the study contract.
