Part-Time Master in Management: Our Application and Admission Process

Our admission requirements

For the program you can apply with a first academic degree with at least 180 ECTS credits, preferably in a business related field.

We recommend that you have at least one year's practical experience when you start your studies. This can include working as a student trainee, internships, vocational training,a dual study program, project activities, etc.

As international experience we accept e.g. internships abroad, language courses, semester abroad, summer schools, or high school exchange year in non-German speaking country. This requirement must only be fulfilled by candidates from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

TOEFL English language proficiency test with an overall score of at least 100 internet based and a minimum score of 23 in speaking and writing (WHU Code: 0682), 
OR IELTS with an overall score of at least 7.0 and a minimum score of 6.0 in speaking and writing
OR Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) of at least Grade C
OR Cambridge Certificate of Advance in English (CAE) of Grade A

  • PLEASE NOTE: We also accept the TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition that you can take online.
     
  • An English language proficiency test is not required if your first language is English or your Bachelor was completed entirely in English. In this case, proof from your university is required.

Applicants for the Part-Time Master in Management are required to prove strong analytical and quantitative skills. This can be demonstrated through your transcript of records or by a strong GMAT/GRE/TM-BASE score, which may be requested by the Admissions Team.

GMAT score of at least 600 (WHU Code: FBR-FH-93)
OR GRE of at least 155 Verbal and 155 Quantitative
OR TM-BASE of at least 102

PLEASE NOTE: The GMAT, GRE and the TM-BASE are also offered as online exams allowing you to take the test from home.

It is recommended to hand in GMAT/GRE/TM-BASE score even if not requested by the Admissions Team as this can further strengthen your application.

The TM-BASE test has to be completed in English. Please sign up for the test at the TM-BASE website.

After reviewing your CV, an analytical test may be waived.

Our 3-step application process explained

Step one: begin your application process online. Click below to access our application portal.

You will need to fill out various fields and upload all required supporting documents. Detailed information about our admission requirements is below.

Please note: you do not have to complete the online application all at once. Take a break at any time during the application process, save the information you have entered, and come back to it later.

Step two: complete a video interview on Kira Talent.

After your online application has been reviewed, qualified candidates will be invited to complete a video interview on Kira Talent – an online platform via which we ask you interview questions, and you record yourself answering them.

Once you receive the invitation, you will have one week to complete the interview. Because the interview is recorded, you can take it any time that week.

Please note: you should schedule 45 minutes for the interview. Once you start, it is not possible to pause or take breaks.
