Application Process

Our WHU Online Application Center guides you through all the information and documents we require to process your application (see admission requirements). Besides the application documents, we would like to get to know you better by asking you to write about your drivers to do an MBA at WHU, your career goals, and what sets you apart. Usually, your application will be reviewed and assessed within a few days. During peak times, however, it may take longer. To avoid this, we recommend applying as early as possible.

At WHU, our MBA students are names, not numbers, and we value a personal connection. Hence, after reviewing your application, we would like to get to know you as an applicant in a personal interview that can be either on campus or virtual and will be conducted by two members of the Admission Team. Once you have received an invitation for an interview, you will have three weeks to choose a slot. During the interview, we will discuss your motivation and ask you to share examples of how you dealt with situations in your professional life that might come up in the MBA program. We look for a great fit between our WHU values, what our WHU MBA program offers and what you’re looking for in an MBA program. Of course, you are also welcome to ask questions – it's a great way to get to know us better, too! The interview usually takes one hour.

After the interview, we share your application documents and our interview assessment with our Admissions Committee, who makes a final decision. It consists of representatives of the Recruitment and Admissions Team, the Program Director, and the Career Center to have a holistic view on each candidate. The Committee meets once a week, so you can expect to receive feedback on whether you will be admitted to the program, denied, waitlisted, or if you should undergo further steps (like an additional interview) within two weeks.

If you get admitted, we will also share a study offer with you. You will have 30 days to take a decision on whether to accept our offer.
