Dr. Tobias Kosmol, alumnus of the Chair of International Business & Supply Management I at WHU, won the Doctoral Dissertation Award (DDA) of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP). The 2018 CSCMP DDA was given to Tobias in Nashville, TN, during the 2018 CSCMP conference. The dissertation was titled “Supplier Quality Management in Emerging Markets – The Interplay of Behavior and Cognition.”
The CSCMP DDA is for doctoral students who demonstrate significant originality and technical competence in any supply chain function. The DDA is open to all who will have completed their doctoral work in a field related to functions within the supply chain. A selection committee comprised of both academics and practitioners using a blind review process evaluates dissertation abstracts.
It was the third time in ten years that a doctoral student from the team of Professor Lutz Kaufmann won this prestigious award in the U.S. This makes WHU the most successful non-US institution in the history of this prestigious competition.
For 55 years, CSCMP is the leading professional association for supply chain management professionals with a network of more than 6,000 supply chain professionals.
