On Friday, April 5, 2019, WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management bestowed the distinction of status as "Senior Fellow" upon a long-time friend and companion of the Business School.
Matthias Hartmann, CEO of IBM Germany GmbH and General Manager at IBM Germany, Switzerland and Austria, has supported WHU for years. “With Matthias Hartmann, WHU has gained a true 'Digital Native,' who is an expert on the field of digital transformation of companies. We are proud to honor another experienced management practitioner with the 'WHU Senior Fellow' title," announced Professor Dr. Markus Rudolf, Dean of WHU, in his address.
Hartmann has been associated with WHU since 2007 as a guest lecturer in WHU's Executive Education programs, in particular, the Advanced Management Program (AMP), as well as the MBA and EMBA programs. Besides, he has now been appointed as Senior Fellow for his commitment as a speaker at conferences and due to his diverse support of the Business School.
The "WHU Senior Fellow" distinction was first presented in 2015 to Dr. Hartmut Leser, CEO of Aberdeen Deutschland, and Stefan Jentzsch, a Partner at Perella Weinberg Partners. The award was created to provide special recognition to outstanding personalities in business, politics, and society who have made an exceptional contribution to teaching at WHU. The title is initially awarded for three years but can be renewed for another three years at a time.
