On June 7, the graduation of the Full-Time MBA Class of 2019 I and the Part-Time MBA Class of 2019 took place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Düsseldorf.
Families and friends, but also professors and fellow students gathered in front of a festive setting to celebrate the 66 graduates for their successful MBA degree.
Before the presentation of the certificates, Professor Dr. Markus Rudolf, Dean of WHU, recalled the many opportunities that a united Europe offers. Above all, he emphasized that Europe stands for freedom, without borders, and with a common currency. To maintain these advantages and compete with other major economies such as the USA and China, MBA graduates and everyone else must work for Europe. Professor Dr. Martin Fassnacht, Academic Director of the MBA program, was pleased with the graduates and praised the efforts and academic achievements of the cohort.
Jens-Martin Schwärzler, Executive Vice President Beauty Care at Henkel, congratulated the graduates on a milestone in their lives and shared some lessons from his career. According to Schwärzler, the most important questions were what, how, and why. One has to be clear about one's goal, the path, and the motivation for the purpose. "Strive for the impossible to find out what is possible."
The graduates shared their joy with two professors, whom they thanked for their extraordinary commitment by being voted "Best Teacher": This year's award went again to Professor Dr. Lutz Kaufmann and Professor Dr. Garen Markarian, who were visibly pleased with the award.
