Award for WHU Students

The WHU students Carl Bock, Daniel Hauptmann and Carl Lackmann (all BSc 2020) were honored at the ASA Fall Data Challenge in the category "Best Use of External Data."

This year's ASA Fall Data Challenge focused on how statistical analysis can help reduce homelessness in large US cities such as Los Angeles, New York City, and Seattle. The ASA (American Statistical Association) had encouraged high school and undergraduate students to use their statistical skills in a competition for the good cause and against the homelessness crisis in the US.

Professor Dr. Michael Massmann, Chair of Econometrics and Statistics at WHU, supervised the team of bachelor students during the competition.
