On September 26, nine international companies from different sectors presented themselves at the annual Career Day on the Vallendar campus: Adidas, Debeka, Deloitte Consulting, Deutsche Börse, Hubert Burda Media, Infosys, PIMCO, Robert Bosch Power Tools and SiliconValleyBank brought many WHU alumni back to their alma mater as well as information on the respective offers for internships, theses and entry positions.
The number of interested students clearly exceeded the capacity of the largest lecture hall in Vallendar - and filled another lecture hall in which the short presentations of the companies were broadcast. In addition to doctoral students and students from the bachelor's and master's programs who were based in Vallendar, a bus with MBA students had also arrived from the Düsseldorf campus. Professor Dr. Burcin Yurtoglu, Chair of Corporate Finance, welcomed the company representatives and students and warmly thanked the Career Center for organizing the event. Traditionally, the Career Day provides a platform for companies that are not yet members of WHU's circle of sponsors to get to know WHU and its students. At the same time, students experience exciting new companies from a wide variety of industries on campus every year. Heike Hülpüsch, Director Career Center at WHU, encouraged all those present to use the day to be curious and open-minded in the best sense of the word and to get to know each other.
Company representatives and students acted accordingly and networked passionately at the fair. Some master students were also able to test themselves in the high art of networking under tougher conditions: at Career Speed Dating, students and company representatives only had seven minutes together to test their mutual interest. Hoarse but satisfied feedback from the company representatives as well as spontaneous positive feedback from the students in the evening left the organizers happy and looking forward to Career Day 2020.
