On January 31, the Full-Time MBA Class of 2019 II of WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management celebrated its festive graduation at the InterContinental Hotel in Düsseldorf.
The ceremony was opened by Professor Dr. Markus Rudolf, Dean of WHU, who congratulated the 37 graduates of the MBA program. In his speech, Rudolf outlined the developments at WHU since its foundation in 1984 and emphasized that the MBA program has played a major role in shaping WHU's current image as a business school with excellent teaching.
The keynote speech was delivered by Vuyiswa V. M'Cwabeni, herself an MBA graduate of WHU, a member of the Supervisory Board of Wirecard AG and a Technology and Innovation Strategist at SAP SE. Looking back on her career, M'Cwabeni recalled the feeling of her own graduation ceremony. She encouraged the graduates to apply the knowledge and experience they had gained at WHU and to always pursue a vision in life. She remarked that the world needed people who are daring and bold enough to try again and again to achieve their set goals.
Professor Dr. Martin Fassnacht, Academic Director of the MBA Program, and Gerold Gnau, Program Director MBA, also addressed the graduates before the award ceremony and praised the academic achievements of the cohort.
The graduates shared their joy and gratitude not only with their families and friends but above all with Professor Dr. Garen Markarian, to whom they presented the "Best Teacher Award" for his special commitment to teaching.
In the recently published Financial Times MBA Ranking, WHU's MBA program repeatedly took first place in Germany, improved by seven ranks worldwide and now occupies 64th place.
