WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management once again achieved outstanding results in the current international U-Multirank ranking for 2017. WHU achieved the most first-rate scores of all universities ranked within the Business Studies field.
In this year’s U-Multirank ranking WHU achieves top results in twelve categories. Rather than rank universities globally across a cluster of categories, this innovative international university ranking compares universities in different performance areas.
"We are particularly pleased that we have once again received excellent ratings in the areas of ‘Teaching and Learning’ and ‘International Orientation’, as our motto of 'Excellence in Management Education' first and foremost comprises outstanding conditions of study and a consistent international orientation. We are also delighted about our exceptional performance in the newly introduced Graduate Companies category," Professor Dr. Markus Rudolf, Dean of WHU, pointed out.
WHU receives first-rate scores in all four core categories of the “Teaching and Learning” area, a so called "excellence" score. At WHU nearly all students in the Bachelor's and Master's programs complete their studies within the prescribed duration of the program. The drop-out rate in both programs is lower than five percent, which is well below the international average. In the newly added “Teaching and Learning Students’ Views” area the school scored first rate scores in all listed categories.
In the area of “International Orientation”, WHU achieved “excellence” scores in five of six core categories. This internationality is particularly evident in the continuously growing, comparatively high percentage of international faculty members and in numerous joint publications with foreign researchers. The large numbers of international exchange students who opt to spend a semester at WHU, along with the fact that all students at WHU complete at least one semester or module abroad during the course of their studies, distinguish the University in the field of International Orientation.
In the newly introduced “Graduate Companies” category WHU ranks among the world’s leaders thanks to the numerous successful start-ups founded by WHU alumni. This is also a result of the school’s longstanding, consistent investment in and support for aspiring entrepreneurs and the start-up scene which is reflected by various students clubs and conferences as well as two Chairs for Entrepreneurship and New Business Developtment. Additionally, as of September 2017 WHU offers Germany’s first Master in Science Program in Entrepreneurship.
