08/31/16: A cross-country study on time preferences is published on Journal of Economic Psychology (Vol. 52, p 115-125). The study has been reported in Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), Süddeutsche Zeitung and Wirtschaftswoche.
08/28/15: Former doctoral student, Yujing Gong, graduated on August 28, 2015 with an excellent grade (summa cum laude). Title of her thesis is "Empirical Essays on Information Uncertainty and Momentum Strategy". Ms. Gong is currently working as an assistant professor at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law in Wuhan, China.
07/17/15: Our former doctoral Student, Dennis Dlugosch, has graduated with excellent grade (summa cum laude) on July 17, 2015. His doctoral thesis analysed equity home bias and Impacts of monetary expansion on mutual funds flows. - He is currently as Junior Economist at OECD in Paris.
07/01/2015: An international survey on risk preferences around the world by Marc Oliver Rieger (University of Trier), Mei Wang (WHU) and Thorsten Hens (University of Zurich), has been published in Management Science in 2015. This study has attracted some media attention as well. In particular, it is reported by Süddeutsche Zeitung in an article titled as "Die Angst vor Verlusten" (the fear to lose) and DRadio Wissen in an article titled as "Deutsche sind weniger risikofreudig" (German are less risk seeking).
03/18/2015: Prof. Mei Wang gave a keynote speech titled as "Are we rational? Insights from behavioral finance" at Global Siemens Venture Capital Workshop on March 18, 2015 in Munich. She introduced various fundamental behavioral biases as well as cross-cultural differences to the participants of the workshop, most of whom had many years of experience in venture capital and private equity investment.
