Leona Wiegmann, research assistant at the Institute of Management Accounting and Control (ICM), and Professor Jürgen Weber, director of the IMC, are contributing their expertise in Management Accounting and Control to the recently established Wipro Center for Business Resilience. With the Düsseldorf-based research center, Wipro Ltd. and WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management have laid the foundation for an innovative Indo-German partnership.
The Wipro Center aims to explore the factors influencing long-term business success, with a particular focus on family enterprises. Researchers at the center – which serves as a think tank and open platform – examine topics such as technology enablement and how it influences corporate growth and strategy. In this regard, Leona Wiegmann and Professor Jürgen Weber will focus their research on how advances in information technology are changing reporting and controlling processes. Furthermore, Leona Wiegmann has been made a Wipro Fellow.
The center started its work in June under the joint academic directorship of Professor Sabine Rau and Dr. Paul de Bijl. It is supported by a Research Advisory Board and a Corporate Advisory Board as well as CIO Magazine which brings further expertise into this collaboration as a key partner.
