The Cool Connection
The Cool Connection is world’s best web-based ‘serious game’ in Supply Chain Finance. This training tool provides real-life insight in the complexities and interdependencies of supply chains operating under uncertain and volatile market conditions.

One-day Cool Connection Teacher Training + Supply Chain Finance workshop
In the one-day Train-the-Teacher session of "The Cool Connection", professors and lectures will play "The Cool Connection" and learn all about Supply Chain Finance. After the training, you will be able to include the game into your course.

  •           Supply Chain Finance - basic understanding
  •           "The Cool Connection" – participant will play at least 3 rounds
              of the game
  •           The Supply Chain Finance Course
  •           How to enhance the learning effects for the participants
  •           How to evaluate the participant’s results and the
              learning effects

Target group
The training day is meant for professors and lecturers for instance in Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Finance, MBA. Due to the flexible and customized configuration, the game is suitable both for bachelor and master students.

Trainer
Trainer of the day is Mrs. Marloes van Elsen-Bergevoet, of ING Wholesale Banking Netherlands. Mrs. Van Elsen-Bergevoet has extensive experience with Supply Chain Finance, The Cool Connection, and is closely involved in Circular Economy activities. Part of the program is her presentation: ‘Rethinking finance in the transition to a circular economy’.  

Certificate
All participants that attend the full day, will receive a certificate.

  8.00 - 09.00 a.m.: Welcome Coffee & Registration   
  9:00 - 09.30 a.m.: Introduction into Supply Chain Finance   
  9:30 - 10.15 a.m.: Introduction into "The Cool Connection"   
10.15 - 12.00 p.m.: Round 1: Bridging of the physical and
                                  financial Supply Chain   
12.00  -  1.00 p.m.: Lunch   
  1.00  -  2.00 p.m.: Presentation: Rethinking finance in the transition to a
                                  circular economy
 
  2.00 -  3.00 p.m.:  Round 2: Working Capital Management 
  3.00 -  3.15 p.m.:  Coffee break   
  3.15 -  4.45 p.m.:  Round 3: Working Capital Management and  
                                  SCF Tools & introduction of TCC into Curriculum   
  4.45 -  5.15 p.m.:  Discussion / Debrief    
              5.15 p.m.:  End of the Workshop

By public transport
From Dusseldorf Hbf (main station) take the underground line U75 (in the basement of the main station) in the direction of “Eller - Vennhauser Allee.”

Disembark at the second stop “Kettwiger Straße” and take the stairs up to the right hand side exit signposted Kettwiger Straße and when arriving on Kettwiger Straße, turn right.

Continue (right) onto Erkrather Straße. You can reach the Schwanenhöfe in less than five minutes.

The WHU sign ahead of you (on the Schwanenhöfe signpost) will help you for further directions.

By taxi
It is approximately a 25 minute ride (10 km) from Dusseldorf Airport DUS to WHU’s Campus Dusseldorf. One-way fare: +/- € 35. From Dusseldorf Hbf (main station) the fare is approximately €9 one way. Please give the taxi driver the address in addition to the name “Schwanenhöfe.”

Whenever calling a taxi please ask the driver whether he accepts credit cards – not every taxi will.

Rental cars can easily be booked at Dusseldorf International Airport and at Dusseldorf Central Station via Europcar.
