Professor Dr. Markus Rudolf, Dean of WHU, Professor Dr. Martin Jacob, and adidas representatives Harm Ohlmeyer, CFO at adidas AG, and Birgit Kretschmer, Senior Vice President Finance at adidas AG, jointly opened the new adidas Chair of Finance, Accounting, and Taxation. In their opening speeches, both Markus Rudolf and Harm Ohlmeyer addressed the importance of promoting science, linking education and business, and the multiple similarities between adidas and WHU.
"I am extremely pleased about the cooperation with adidas, which will enable us to further expand our research and teaching in Finance and Accounting," said Markus Rudolf, Dean of WHU. "By establishing a lively exchange of expertise between WHU and adidas, the cooperation is a great benefit for both sides".
The chair, which was previously called Chair for Business Taxation, will be funded for five years under the direction of Martin Jacob. "With adidas, we are getting another strong partner from the field. We are confident that this integration of research and practice will deliver important results in finance, accounting, and taxation over the next five years," said Martin Jacob.
