Jingwen Luo, Master in Management Class of 2018

Hometown: Chengdu, China

Hobbies and Interests: During the weekend I enjoy escaping the city and being close to nature. I am also attracted to extreme sports activities that put me out of comfort zone, as well as traveling and hiking.

What made you choose to do your Master program at WHU?
I did an exchange semester to WHU while I was doing my bachelor degree in Canada. Back then I already knew that WHU offered high-quality education and a great network. When I wanted to explore another part of the world, I knew WHU was the perfect place to continue my studies.

What is the most memorable experience you’ve made at WHU so far?
I was, and continue to be, amazed by the study atmosphere and student competitiveness at WHU. Everyone’s ambition is to achieve higher.

What are your aspirations after you finish the program?
I would like to take some time off to concentrate on studying German. I’ll also search for a job position which allows me to continue exploring different cultures and use what I have learned from the Master program.

Gabriela Hájková, Master in Management Class of 2018

Hometown: Uničov

Hobbies and Interests: Next to my studies I engage a lot in the integration of our exchange students into our WHU community by organizing events and trips for them or by simply assisting them when needed. I enjoy good food and wine and classical literature. I am a passionate traveler and love to learn foreign languages and explore the world.

What made you choose to do your Master program at WHU?
I have spent three amazing years at WHU during my bachelor studies. After my gap year I was looking for an international, friendly and excellent education. Having compared all available options, I chose WHU once again as it offers one of the best educational programs paired with a great campus spirit and amazing career opportunities.

What is the most memorable experience you’ve made at WHU so far?
My most memorable moment at WHU has been our canoeing team building event during our MSc welcome week. It was great to see all my fellow students in such a relaxed yet competitive and sporty mood and to get to know each other in a less formal way.

What are your aspirations after you finish the program?
After finishing my studies, I am planning to join a global industry firm in their strategy department to both leverage my current knowledge and experience and combine them with my interest.
