Kooperation Wirtschaft & Wissenschaft

Im März 2019 wurde eine drei Jahre dauernde Kooperation zwischen dem Handelsunternehmen real und der WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management geschaffen. Herr Marcel Uphues, Finanzdirektor von real, und Herr Dr. Toni Callabretti, Vorsitzender der WHU Stiftung, unterzeichneten den Vertrag. Die real Stiftungsjuniorprofessur für Retail Analytics ist am Lehrstuhl für Produktionsmanagement von Prof. Dr. Arnd Huchzermeier angesiedelt.

Besetzung

Frau Dr. Marjolein Buisman von der Wageningen Universität, Niederlande, wurde vom WHU Senat und dem rheinland-pfälzischen Kultusminister für diese Position berufen.

Canyon – Eine Fallstudie.

Unternehmen, die saisonale (oder nicht saisonale) Produkte verkaufen, verlassen sich oft auf eine Einschätzung der Nachfrage durch Expertenteams. Damit die Vorhersagen möglichst exakt sind, müssen jedoch bestimmte Tendenzen berücksichtigt werden (siehe Fallstudie). Mithilfe alternativer Informationsquellen lässt sich die Vorhersagegenauigkeit weiter verbessern und auch der erforderliche Verwaltungs- und Personalaufwand für die Erstellung entscheidender Inputs reduzieren, insbesondere dann, wenn eine große, ausgedehnte Produktpalette mit unterschiedlichen Preisangeboten auf verschiedenen Märkten verkauft wird.

Campus Car – Erfahren Sie mehr über unsere wissenschaftliche Arbeit.

Im Frühjahr 2010 gründeten Gunnar Froh und Prof. Dr. Arnd Huchzermeier das Unternehmen Campus Car. Neben 3 Smarts von Daimler konnte auch ein 1er BMW von WHU Studenten 7/24 gemietet werden.

Das Unternehmen wurde von zahlreichen Sponsoren unterstützt, u.a. dem Zoo Neuwied. Als Gegenleistung wurden z.B. das Heck zweier Smart Fahrzeuge mit Werbung und dem Abbild eines Tigerkopfes mit Folie bezogen. Die Kosten für die Anmietung lagen bei ca. 8€/h und waren somit weit günstiger als Taxi, vergleichbare Mietangebote oder sogar öffentlicher Transport und Verkehr.

Das Geschäft musste dennoch nach 3 Jahren wegen mangelnder Nachfrage und somit geringer Auslastung eingestellt werden.

Im Jahr 2013 gründete Gunnar Froh in Hamburg die Firma Wunder Mobility. Wunder Mobility unterstützt Start-ups, Unternehmen und Städte auf der ganzen Welt bei der Einführung und Ausweitung von Shared Mobility Services.

Im Jahr 2019 schloss Wunder Mobility eine 60-Millionen-Dollar-Finanzierungsrunde ab, um seine städtische Verkehrsplattform in den USA auszubauen.
