WHU’s Master in Finance Ranks #1 in Germany Four Years Running!

The Financial Times places WHU’s study program #1 in Germany and #20 worldwide in its 2023 Masters in Finance Ranking

Considered a touchstone for all potential students seeking a suitable academic program, the annual Masters in Finance Ranking issued by the Financial Times vets universities and institutions from all around the world known for high-quality education. For four years running, WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management has been one of the 55 schools to enter the ranking. For its own Master in Finance program, under the stewardship of Academic Director Professor Ralf Fendel (Chair of Monetary Economics) and Program Director Dr. Steffen Löv, the results are in: In the most recent edition of the ranking, published June 12, 2023, WHU has defended its position within the Top 20 worldwide—and its #1 position in Germany.

Speaking of the news, Professor Christian Andres, Dean of WHU, noted that “we represent one of only three other schools based in Germany to appear on this list—an incredible honor! Our continued residence in the Top 20 is the result of the excellent work of our faculty and the ambitious nature of the program’s alumni.”

A closer look at the school’s performance reveals high marks in several categories, including “career service” (#3), “international course experience” (#7), “salary” (#10), and “alumni network” (#10). Indeed, the school’s Career Center, run by Heike Huelpuesch, and the alumni network In Praxi, with Dr. Marco Vietor at the helm, are driving forces behind many of the school’s initiatives and the students’ continued success both before and after graduation. In fact, the results of the ranking show that those same alumni gave the Master in Finance offered by WHU an overall satisfaction rating of 9.21 out of 10 points—and they are highly satisfied with the careers they’ve had since earning their degrees.

These results follow the school’s previous appearances in other rankings, including this year’s Financial Times Executive Education Ranking, where WHU placed #31; and the CHE University Ranking, wherein WHU received 4.9/5 stars in a variety of categories.
