German Finance Association (DGF)
Annual Meeting 2026
The conference will take place in Düsseldorf, Germany, from September 24 to 26, 2026.
The conference aims to bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss the latest theoretical and empirical research from all areas of finance, banking, and insurance.
Important Dates
The event kicks off on September 24 with a doctoral workshop and a dedicated Women-in-Finance program, followed by a get together held at WHU’s Duesseldorf Campus.
On September 25 and 26, the main conference will take place at Heinrich Heine University, bringing together researchers and professionals to exchange ideas and present the latest theoretical and empirical research in finance, banking, and insurance.

- Düsseldorf Airport (DUS)
The largest and closest airport, approx. 10 minutes to the main train station by S-Bahn and regional train. Many international and European connections. - Cologne/Bonn Airport (CGN)
Easily accessible by train, approx. 45–60 minutes by regional or long-distance train. Good alternatives, especially for international flights. - Dortmund Airport (DTM)
A solid alternative, approx. 1.5 hours from Duesseldorf by train and bus.
Primarily low-cost carriers and European destinations.

Call for Papers / Submission / Further Details
We invite submissions of recent research papers. Guidelines for the submission are:
- Submissions are only accepted through the online submission system
https://www.conftool.net/dgf2026/ - The submission period is from February 1 to April 15, 2026 (midnight, CET).
- Submissions are subject to a double-blind review process. Thus, papers have to be submitted in an anonymous format (no references to authors or affiliations).
- Only full papers in English (pdf format) are considered for review. Papers should be accompanied by an abstract of no more than 120 words.
- Submissions are free of charge for DGF members only, 40,00€ for non DGF Members. You may become a member at https://www.dgf.info/en/membership/
Will be announced in due time.
The best overall paper and the best doctoral paper will both be awarded prizes.

A doctoral workshop will take place on Thursday, September 24.
Application for this workshop will be separate from the main conference.
On Thursday, September 24, a Women-in-Finance event will take place. Female participants can register for this workshop at no extra cost as part of the general conference registration.

Special Issue of the Journal of Business Economics
Submissions accepted for presentation are also eligible for inclusion in a special issue of the Journal of Business Economics. There will be a separate call on the journal homepage with an independent submission process. This is not an official publication outlet of the DGF.
All participants are invited to a get-together from xx pm to xx pm at Bogenhalle (Krautkraemer Building) at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management.

Women in Finance
We are delighted to host the fifth Women-in-Finance Event as part of the Annual Meeting of the German Finance Association (DGF) in Düsseldorf. We warmly invite all female finance researchers to join us for this special gathering on Thursday, 24 September 2026.
This event offers a valuable opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and engage with fellow researchers in the field of finance. Participants will have the chance to discuss shared experiences, network with peers, and gain insights from accomplished female role models in academia. The event is particularly suited for early-career researchers seeking inspiration, support, and community within the finance research field.
