Welcome to WHU Saidia Consulting e.V. –
WHU's student-run management consultancy.
About us
Social engagement and volunteerism are the backbone of our society. That is why organizations that focus on the well-being of others are essential for togetherness in our fast-paced and performance-oriented world.
Nevertheless, social associations are often confronted with considerable economic and organizational hurdles and thus some worthwhile ideas cannot be implemented. This is exactly where we, the student-run management consultancy at WHU, Saidia, come in: We support social organizations with business management know-how regarding organizational and economic issues of all kinds.
It does not matter at all in which social field the client is active! As a student consultancy, we advise a wide range of social and non-profit institutions. Working closely with our clients, we thus find innovative solutions so that they can focus on what they do best: Helping other people and enriching our society through their social engagement.

Our portfolio
Event design
The Filippas Engel Foundation, which is under the patronage of the Princes of Sayn-Wittgenstein, is one of Saidia's long-term partnerships. Every year, the foundation awards a prize to young people who have shown special social commitment. And every year we are again pleased to support Filippas Engel in the event design as part of a project.
Growth
CHILDREN is a consulting project whose mission was to enable a non-profit organization to grow. The social project "Children for a better world" works in German hotspot neighborhoods against the consequences of child poverty and promotes committed children and young people who support people in poverty, illness and need with their own projects. The consulting team supported CHILDREN with detailed analyses of possible cooperating companies for the establishment and financing of Germany-wide stations of the lunch tables for children from socially deprived areas.
Customer analysis
As probably the best-known social lottery in Germany, Aktion Mensch supports the improvement of living conditions for people with disabilities, children and young people. We helped with a customer and social structure analysis in other European countries against the background of an increasingly stagnating market (in cooperation with JC Network).
Funding strategy
Soroptimists deal with issues related to the legal, social and professional status of women and represent the position of women in the public debate. Our organization helped to develop a funding strategy for the implementation of regular integration events. We also offered support in acquiring funds for this long-term project.
Risk management
The Blind Institute Foundation supports blind, visually impaired and multi-disabled people in Bavaria and Thuringia. Our organization helped to prepare a pro bono project conducted by Oliver Wyman, which supported the Blind Institute Foundation to set up a structured risk management. For this purpose, we analyzed risk management structures in other NGOs and social enterprises as well as risks encountered in such organizations.
Marketing
Following the motto "Education as a way out of poverty", this project helps children and young people to achieve better professional opportunities and income opportunities in the long term. Saidia helped to set up a social media presence. Saidia also helped with the creation of a pitch deck, as well as data maintenance.
Business Case
A refugee rescue boat lies unrefurbished in the port of Malta. And what else? "A ship is safe in harbor, but that is not what ships are built for." In our project, we investigated whether there is any other option for this ship in the future than lying in harbor.
News
WHU Saidia Consulting was able to convince the jurors of the Vallendar Lions Club with its project "Marketing campaign in online and print media". As the applicant and former Saidia board chairman, Max Schmid accepted the check for 5,000 euros from Lions member Adolf T. Schneider, the initiator of the competition, in the WHU chapel.
FAQs
Student consultants may not yet have years of experience in the consulting industry, but they have the potential to look at challenges from new angles and offer unconventional ideas. That's why many companies already rely on student consulting.
We offer our consulting services completely free of charge for non-profit organizations, regardless of the project task.
First, we clarify the project objective with our client and then invite applications for the project from our pool of consultants, which comprises 1200 students. After intensive screening of the applications received, we invite the consultants best suited to the project to a personal interview and put together a competent team of consultants based on the interviews.
The project duration depends on the scope of the respective project task and is discussed individually with the customer before the project begins. On average, a project supported by Saidia Consulting takes four to six weeks.
Saidia Consulting is not tied to a specific location, which is why we offer our services throughout Germany. If you are interested in a Saidia project but do not have a location in Germany, please still feel free to contact us so we can get together!
The size of the project team depends on the scope of the respective project task and is discussed individually with the customer before the project begins. On average, a consulting team consists of a project manager and two to four consultants.
