Short biography:
Dr. Lisa Hillmann obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and her Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Goettingen. In 2020, she received her Ph.D. in Business Administration with a focus on business taxation from the same university. Part of Lisa’s research was carried out at Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, in 2018 and at IESE Business School in 2024. Since April 2021, she has been an Assistant Professor of Financial Accounting and Business Taxation. Her research was published in the Journal of Corporate Finance and in the Journal of Accounting and Economics.
Research interests:
Lisa’s research focuses on empirical research at the intersection of corporate taxation, financial accounting, and corporate finance. In particular, she is interested in how institutional factors, such as tax and accounting regulations and uncertainty, influence firms’ decision-making.
