Jürgen A. Neumann

External Doctoral Student

Jürgen A. Neumann has joined the Institute for Family Business as an external doctoral candidate in August 2019. In his dissertation, Jürgen focuses on the research area of mid-market holdings.

Jürgen A. Neumann is founder and owner of Acquarium Partners, an independent advisor and active co-investor for direct investments in industrial medium-sized companies. Their client base encompasses family offices, mid-market holdings and institutional investors.

Jürgen started his career with Siemens, initially as software developer, later as project manager of Siemens Management Consulting. His projects focused on restructuring and sales growth initiatives in the industry sector. Later he joined Apax Partners as investment manager conducting investments and developing portfolio companies in the area of technology and telecommunications. In 2006 he founded Acquarium Partners.

His experience include the full investment cycle, the operational management and strategic (re-) focusing of portfolio companies, as well as the development and (re-)positioning of mid-market company portfolios.

Jürgen holds a Dipl-Ing. in electrical engineering from the University of Stuttgart and an M.B.A. from Harvard University, Boston.
